International Patients
In brief
If you are travelling to Istanbul for a consultation, the two things that make the visit worthwhile are sending your existing reports in advance and saying that you would like to correspond in English. Appointments are arranged directly with the clinic by form, e-mail or WhatsApp.
This page explains the practical side of arranging a consultation from outside Turkey. Clinical information about the conditions treated is on the gynecologic oncology pages.
Getting in Touch
There are three ways to reach the clinic, all listed on the contact page:
- The appointment form on the contact page
- E-mail to info@taylansenol.com
- WhatsApp to +90 555 197 77 34
Please mention in your first message that you are writing from abroad and that you would like to correspond in English, so that your enquiry is handled accordingly. Consultations are by appointment; there is no walk in clinic.
What to Send Before You Travel
Sending your records in advance is the single most useful thing you can do. It allows the question you are actually asking to be understood before you arrive, and it often prevents an investigation being repeated unnecessarily.
- Ultrasound, MRI or CT reports, and the images themselves where possible
- Pathology reports, if you have had a biopsy or an operation
- Blood test results, including any tumour marker results
- Operation notes from any previous surgery
- A short summary of when the symptoms began and how they have changed
Reports in your own language are still useful. Numbers, dates and measurements carry across, and comparing an earlier scan with a current one frequently answers more than either does alone.
What the First Consultation Involves
A first appointment begins with your history and an examination, followed by ultrasound in most cases. Where the findings require it, further imaging, a biopsy or blood tests are arranged. The purpose at this stage is to establish what is actually there.
A treatment plan is discussed after that assessment, not before it. If you have been given a diagnosis elsewhere and want a further opinion before deciding on surgery, bring the imaging and the pathology report with you; those two documents carry most of the weight in such a discussion.
Finding the Clinic
The clinic is in Atakoy, Bakirkoy, on the European side of Istanbul, on the E-5 service road.
- Walking distance to Atakoy Sirinevler metro station
- On the E-5 service road, in a building with parking
- About ten minutes from Bakirkoy ferry terminal and the Marmaray line
The full address and a map are on the contact page.
Before You Book Travel
Please arrange the appointment before booking travel rather than after. Dates cannot be held informally, and an assessment may lead to further investigations that change how long you need to be in Istanbul. Confirming the appointment first avoids planning a trip around a date that has not been agreed.
